3 Holiday Recap. And Then Some.

As busy as I’ve been the past few weeks, the progressive recap of everything I’ve been up to for the past few months isn’t gonna happen…sooooooo, here’s the recap all in one, convenient post. Lucky you :)

As we transitioned to fall and Halloween was approaching, I decided to make some spooky treats:

The one with the knife was my favorite…I’m going to make you look at it twice.

Baked pumpkin donuts with dark chocolate ganache:

Leading up to Thanksgiving, I decided to continue to roll with the pumpkin…

More blueberry pop tarts by popular demand:

Look familiar:

When Thanksgiving peeked around the corner, I decided to make my blueberry pie exceptionally fancy…P.S. I couldn’t find my leaf cookie cutter, so I had to cut all of the leaves out by hand. What can I say?  When I have a vision, I have a vision:

How can you have Thanksgiving dessert without homemade apple pie?:

Bows added for my dear friend and fellow blogger, ironyisalifestyle:

Here’s the whole family—on the left, the ugly stepsister (pumpkin pie), the Hello Kitty apple pie in the center and fancypants blueberry pie on the right:

Oh and before I forget, the weekend before Thanksgiving, I had the honor of being asked to do an afterparty for the 2012 AMA’s for a little company called, INTERSCOPE RECORDS…maybe you’ve heard of it?

Vanilla bean cupcake, raspberry cream cheese buttercream:

Smog City Porter infused chocolate cake with caramel buttercream and crunchy caramel pearls:

Here was the fancy version of the caramel cupcakes:

Lastly, yellow cupcake with a marshmallow cream center and frosting, garnished with gold pearls:

None of this would be possible without the help of my beautiful assistant and amazing friend, Miss Amanda C.:

oh and this guy right here:

After the event, I was cupcake’d out, so I took a teeny break and made some black lava salt chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with peanut butter buttercream filling:

More pop tarts because raspberries were in season:

Once reality set back in, it was on to more Christmas-y flavors!

Mint chocolate cupcake with mint Oreo crust, mint-infused buttercream, garnished with dark chocolate ganache and an Andes mint:

Gingerbread cupcake infused with Brother Thelonius Belgian Style Ale, topped with cream cheese buttercream:

image

More mint chocolate cupcakes infused with Mint Imperial Stout (the chocolate used to make this beer is from a fantastic local chocolatier, Chocovivo), a Trader Joe’s “Joe-Joe” baked inside, topped with a mint buttercream, garnished with red chocolate curls and a dark chocolate and candy cane coated waffle cookie:

And finally, for my loved ones, I decided to “jar” some cupcakes because after years of worrying about keeping countless boxes upright, I wanted to throw all of the anxiety out of the window ;P

Happy Holidays!

Not Just Any Cookie…

Since it’s been a while since I “tumblr’d” last, I figured I’d resurface with my most recent obsession and slowly fill you in on what I’ve been up to within the next few days…

What do you do when you are craving 2 different types of cookies?  You mash ‘em together…but in a pretty way.  I heart chocolate chip cookies along with the occasional Oreo, so I decided they should get married and live together…

….in the oven…for about 16 minutes at a time…

…add a little cypress salt…

mmmmmmm!!!!
